LESHAN, Nov.11 (Xinhuanet) – China Mobile·2018 Leshan International Half Marathon kicked off Sunday along Daduhe River in Leshan City, Southwest China’s Sichuan Province.

Themed “happy run”, the event has attracted over 10,000 competitors from 24 countries and regions.

Gebreyohannnes Adeladlew Mamo and Tesfahun Melkame Wale, both from Ethiopia, claimed men’s and women’s title respectively.

Organizers also set up “sweet run” for couples and “family run”.

A series of dating activities such as candlelight dinner were held to attract young runners.

Running along Daduhe River, participants had the chance to enjoy splendid natural scenery, and taste local cuisine and delicacies displayed along the track.

Also, the organizers offered all runners free tours to the world heritage sites -- Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emei, connecting sports with local tourism.
