PARIS, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.20 percent, or 10.39 points, to close at 5,095.98 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 20 lost in the day.

French automobile equipment producer Valeo advanced 3.29 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. European aerospace corporation Airbus rose 3.01 percent and French aviation group Safran gained 2.16 percent.

French multinational commercial property investor Unibail-Rodamco lost 2.74 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi lost 2.17 percent. French international cosmetics company L'OREAL edged down 1.92 percent. Enditem
