BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) -- China has revised temporary air route management measures to boost airspace efficiency and advance the growth of the aviation industry, the office of the central air traffic management committee announced on Wednesday.
The measures expand temporary routes' functions, by equating them with fixed routes. This change allows for the filing of flight plans and unified management, which in turn shortens flight distances and reduces carbon emissions.
They are also shifting from an application-based system to a notification system, with routes being open on a regular basis and advance notices provided for adjustments, which improves planning efficiency.
The revised measures will take effect on September 1, 2026. The office will assess route effectiveness, optimize adjustments and refine the notification mechanism to ensure flight safety. ■
